What is this? More updates?

Yup! This one is worth noting as it is the vague plan for the whole weekend. We want everyone at every bit of it, so pay attention and be aware that even though we do have some degree of back up, if you miss a meet-up, you may miss something good.

Ok, daddy speech done.

Thursday & Friday

There will be people about. Track them down, use Bothy Bikes as a hub, the Cairngorm Hotel, Old Bridge Inn, Mountain Cafe and Cafe Mambo are good places for food and drink. Think like the tom cat, spread the singlespeed seed.

Saturday - 1st September

Register at Bothy Bikes shop, Inverdruie, 200m from Aviemore along the Ski Road. You will get your rider pack: some maps and instructions. Don't lose it, some of it is important for later. Feel free to hang about, chat and press flesh.

Registration will open from 12 noon, and run until 7pm. It is a good spot to meet, greet, make sure yer bike is working, or explore on your own.

The event to decide the hosts for 2008 will be run at 5pm. If you want to have a spot you must contact be_heard@sswc2007.com prior to the event. After the decider you are free to seek wine, women and song. We would suggest the Cairngorm Hotel bar and Cafe Mambo on the main street then later on The Vault nightclub further up the main street (next to the police station!) will be open from around 9pm where you can shake your tail feathers....entry instructions in pack (you didn't lose it did you?).

Sunday - 2nd September

An early start. There is no way around this and we will not delay for any reason. You will feel shonky. That is inevitable, but we still need to see you by 9.30am sharp at Bothy Bikes for the ride out. This does not mean “9.30 am sharp, oooohhh! that means 10am as we are all crazy singlespeeders”. It means we LEAVE at 9.30am. So get a good alarm and stow some Irn Bru and scotch eggs.

From there you will be riding to the course, racing then riding back to Bothy Bikes.

It would be good to have some extra layers, a waterproof and some snacks, just in case.
We expect everyone to be back at Bothy Bikes by 4.30pm. There will be a bit of a feed available and shortly thereafter the prize ceremony.
Then - retire, recharge and The Vault will again open its welcoming doors at around 9 pm.
We do reserve the right to ignore stupidity as we are busy.
